About QVX

QVX (QlikView Data eXchange) is a high-performance file and stream format designed for efficient data input into QlikView.

A QVX file includes:

Metadata: Describes the structure of the data table (field names, types, etc.).
Actual Data: The records that populate the table.

Unlike the QVD format, which is proprietary and optimized for internal use within QlikView (requiring minimal transformation), the QVX format is open and designed for external data exchange. As a result, it typically involves additional transformation steps when exporting from traditional database systems.
