Visual Importer ETL Introduction

Visual Importer ETL is a codeless ETL tool with two main components: a data import engine and an automation engine.

Import Example

The transformation engine converts data from one format to another, such as a text file to an Excel file. A typical transformation consists of four key elements: a reader, a validator, a transformer, and a writer. Data flows sequentially from left to right through these stages.

Automation Package Example

An Automation Package consists of multiple actions, where each action represents a single step in the automation process. For example, an action can copy a file, execute a SQL statement, or send an email.

Every Automation Package has a defined starting point from which execution begins.

Each action can return one of two execution statuses:

• Success — the action completed successfully.
• Failure — the action failed or did not meet the required condition.

Once an action has finished, its execution status determines which action is executed next. This makes it possible to create flexible workflows with different execution paths for successful and failed operations.
