Sort Columns

About

The Sort Columns Step is used to reorder columns within a data block. It changes the position of columns, not the order of the data rows.

Key Features

  • Reorder Columns — Change the order in which columns appear in the data block.
  • Ascending or Descending Order — Sort columns according to the selected sorting direction.
  • Improve Data Organisation — Arrange columns into a consistent and logical order.
  • Prepare Output Data — Organise columns before passing the data to subsequent transformation steps or writing it to the destination.

How to Use

  1. Add the Sort Columns Step to the transformation.
  2. Select the required sorting option.
  3. Choose Ascending or Descending order.
  4. Execute the transformation to apply the new column order.

This step is useful when you need to automatically organise the column structure of a data block before further processing or exporting.
