About Clarion DAT files

Clarion DAT files are legacy data files used by applications developed with the Clarion Development Environment. Files with the .DAT extension store records in an indexed sequential (ISAM) format and are typically accompanied by index files such as .K01, .K02, and memo files like .MEM. Clarion DAT files were widely used in business applications including accounting, inventory management, and healthcare systems. Although the format is proprietary, the data can be accessed using Clarion ODBC drivers and migrated to modern databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL with specialized ETL and data conversion tools.
