How to Copy Data from PostgreSQL to SQL Server - Step-by-Step
1. Launch Advanced ETL Processor
- Create a PostgreSQL Connection by specifying the host, port, database name, username, and password
- Create a SQL Server Connection with server name, authentication method, and database name
2. Create a New Transformation
Right-click a transformation group and select New to begin building your data flow.
3. Configure Reader
- Double-click the reader to open Reader Properties
- Select the PostgreSQL connection
- Choose the source table or use a custom SQL SELECT statement
4. Configure Writer
- Double-click the writer to open Writer Properties
- Select the SQL Server connection
- Specify the target table and define insert mode (append, truncate, or replace)
5. Map and Format Fields
- Map PostgreSQL fields to SQL Server columns
- Apply field-level transformations or data type conversions if needed
6. Run the Transformation
Click the Run button (Green Arrow). Data from PostgreSQL will be copied to SQL Server with automatic logging, validation, and error control.
