How to Copy Data from PostgreSQL to OLE DB - Step-by-Step
1. Launch Advanced ETL Processor
- Create a PostgreSQL Connection with server name, port, database, username, and password
- Create an OLE DB Connection using the correct provider string and credentials for your target system
2. Create a New Transformation
Right-click on a transformation group and choose New to start your workflow.
3. Configure Reader
- Double-click the reader to open Reader Properties
- Select the PostgreSQL connection
- Choose a table or use a custom SQL SELECT query
4. Configure Writer
- Double-click the writer to open Writer Properties
- Select the OLE DB connection
- Specify the destination table and insert mode (append, replace, truncate)
5. Map and Format Fields
- Map fields from PostgreSQL to OLE DB-compatible target fields
- Convert data types and apply transformations as needed
6. Run the Transformation
Click the Run button (Green Arrow). Data will be copied from PostgreSQL to the OLE DB destination with logging, validation, and error tracking.
