QVD Reader And Tableau TDE Writer Docs
This tutorial uses the QVD Reader to read a QlikView data file and the Tableau TDE Writer to create a Tableau extract. It is a direct conversion pattern: read the source table, map the fields, write the extract. Very civilised, which is not always how BI hand-offs behave.
The QVD Reader documentation explains what QVD files contain, the reader properties, and numeric field handling. Check the numeric option when QVD values could be interpreted as dates or timestamps.
The Tableau TDE Writer documentation covers what a TDE file is and the writer properties. If you are planning newer Tableau output, also review the Tableau Hyper Writer before committing to TDE for new work.
