Advanced ETL Processor can create repository-managed reports from database queries and export them as PDF, HTML, or Excel CSV. Part one covers the basic report setup: create the report object, pick the data source, use the report wizard, select fields, choose layout and style, then preview the result.
What You Will Learn
- Create a new report object from the reports group.
- Choose the report connection and data source query.
- Use the report wizard to select fields, groups, layout, and style.
- Preview the report before moving on to parameters and automation.
Before You Start
Use a small query while designing the first version. A report designer is much friendlier when it is not trying to render half the accounting database before lunch.
Report Designer Docs
The Advanced ETL Processor reports documentation covers the report designer, toolbar, report wizard, data source query, layout, preview, parameters, and reset options.
Start with Creating Basic Report. The basic flow is to select the report group, create a new report, fill in the report properties, and follow the wizard.
The wizard sections to review are Data Source, Query Builder, Fields Selector, Groups, Layout, and Style.
Before using the report in a package, check Report Preview. The next tutorial can build on this with Report Parameters and Report Package Parameters.
