How to read single Excel cell value

Hello

I have an excel file stored in dropbox.
The file is a financial report which has some totals.
How can I get the cell value total and send that in an email?

Thank you for asking such a useful question.
What you're trying to achieve can be easily done using Advanced ETL Processor 

Here is a basic package example.



It has three actions
The first one is a cloud action it connects to dropbox and downloads excel on the local there.
The next one is a transformation it reads excel cell value and assigns it to the variable
And the last one sends an email.

Using transformation to read a single excel cell value is far too complicated.
The much easier option would be to add the ability to read Excel cell value to the existing Excel operation action.
