Is it possible to  ensure anti virus and anti malware scanning, before files SFTP upload can proceed

The only suggestion we have is to run antivirus from the command line

To scan a single file with Windows Defender through the command prompt, you can use the mpcmdrun.exe utility with the -Scan and -File options. First, locate the mpcmdrun.exe file (usually in C:\Program Files\Windows Defender or C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Platform\<antimalware platform version>). Then, open a command prompt as an administrator, navigate to the directory where mpcmdrun.exe is located, and run the command: mpcmdrun.exe -scan -scantype 2 -file "C:\Path\To\Your\File.ext"

You should be able to use external application action for that

You can choose to run it via command line on FOLDER or FILE , depending upon the antivirus you are using . all the fancy one like Kaspersky , ESET , even humble defender allowing using it like Peter mentioned.

Maybe the easiest would be the check for virus on INPUT FILE BEFORE AETL is touching the same to save yourself a package run
