It's not crashing , but I am not understanding how it's calculating regex

See example below , why is 1 blank ?

Also what's the use of Use Groups option?

Split Regex Static transformation function was created based on the customer request long time ago

FYI , I am able to get it done in my use case .

Maybe a small coat for 2024 may be needed
