Generate Random and unique directory name

No, not at all. The function works well when used from within a script. But it does not appear to be available in the context of the screenshot I included. In this case I just need to generate a temporary file to hold the list of files in a directory. I can of course use a hardcoded file and path. But I suspect that if a another task happens to start that does something similar and by chance uses the same filename and path then we would have contention on the file.

So my thought was that if the GetTemporaryFile() function could within the FileOperation action and then store the generated filename in an "After Execution" function it could be used later.

I have tried to do this and generally AETL locks up if I try to use the GetTemporaryFile() function as I have shown in the screenshot,.

Ok. Yep can see that. So it must be something environmental at my end. When I run my sample, Aetl becomes unresponsive even after a few minutes of leaving it run. There are 91 files in the folder that I am using in the List Operation and there are 10 CSV files in that 91 that should be picked up by the mask. So it is a small sample.

The screen shots show how AETLP has become unresponsive and I have included details of the Action Item. I am on fully patched Windows 10.
