Calling Oracle stored procedures was created by Sean

Hi,

We are currently conducting a proof-of-concept trial of Advanced ETL Processor for one of our clients to see whether it can replace our DataStage tool.
If the trial goes as expected, we intend to purchase the Enterprise edition.

So far, everything is going good

Some of our existing ETL processes call stored procedures in our Oracle database. Is this possible with Advanced ETL Processor?

If so, could you explain how to set it up?Thank you,

Sean

Hi Sean,There are several ways to call a stored procedure. For example:

Code:

BEGIN
  your_stored_procedure;
END;

You can call it from a package or workflow using the SQL Script Action:

You can run a stored procedure before or after a transformation:

You can call a stored procedure while loading the data:

www.etl-tools.com/wiki/knowledgebase/tips/stored-procedure/ Personally, I would avoid option 3 for large data volumes. It is usually much faster to load the data into a temporary or staging table first and then execute the stored procedure once the load is complete.
