Transformation Error SQL Server Field value too long

Just to clarify what does "Fail On Abort" means

variables don't appear to be populated correctly.

I am struggling to reproduce the above

Fail On Abor checkBox on Writer

Sorry for the lack of clarity. Peter suggested checking the Variables in the Package to determine if there was a fault at the Row Level as per the main gist of this thread. But when I interrogated the Package Variables after Transformation, they were empty or Zero.

I will see if I can get a clearer and correct set of screenshots.

We will change the logic so writer length/format errors will be added to both rejected and writer error numbers
