I have tried it but if I open the transformation while the variable is still not defined and I don't have a table with the variable name I can't map anything.
Should I create an empty table with the variable name?

Ok, I have created a sample table in mysql but when I execute the package I still receive the error that nothing is mapped.
What am I doing wrong?

You should create a GLOBAL variable pointing to the existing table.

1 When you design the transformation this GLOBAL variable will be used to show the data and perform the mapping.
2 When you run the transformation from the package change this GLOBAL variable using 'set variable package action'

Hi Mike,
sorry but I have not properly understood.
I have created the global variable called "CUSTOMERDBFULLNAME", pointing to an existing table, 7003_162_Plastifil:

Then I have created a lookup that gets the names of the tables that I have to populate:

The transformation now is working properly and I am not getting any error:

Then I have a "set variable" inside the package:

When I execute the package I am stil getting the error: Writer: [<7003_162_Plastifil>]Nothing is Mapped:

Inside the variables are properly added: the global variable is applied:

and while looping the local variable too:

It is still not clear to me your sentence "set variable package action" is it not enough what I have done so far?
What am I missing?
Thank you very much once again for your support! :)

your lookup is incorrect

do you have a table called <7003_162_Plastifil> in the database?
