Stop on value from sql query

I have a process that runs automatically every 5 minutes and pulls data out via odbc and writes it to a mysql database. I would like to query a table in sql database and if the value is N continue running the process and the value is Y, exit and process and run again the next time it is scheduled to.

So the process would run every 5 minutes via the scheduler, the first thing it would do before writing the data to the sql database would be to query a table and get the value of a record. If that value is N it would continue and run as normal. If the value is Y it would end the process and run the next time the scheduler tells it to.
