Please set source to SQL

And try this SQL

SELECT HEX(your_column), your_column
FROM your_table
FETCH FIRST 10 ROWS ONLY

Also can you try thisODBC DSN settings
In ODBC Data Sources 64-bit → IBM i DSN → Configure, check language/translation options:

Enable character translation.
Check CCSID / “Force translation” options if available.
Make sure the job/client language matches expected data.

If I go to the connections and then to odbc and then to my odbc object and click browse data, the data looks normal.

This part is using OLE DB + ODBC

ODBC is usually faster,

You can create OLEDB connection and use it instead of ODBC in the reader.

We can connect remotely and investigate if you have time
