ODBC / Not Closing Connections

Hi,
i have small problem. I have a defined connection via odbc on DB2 db.

When I use this connection when importing as a "source" connection everything works perfect and the connection closes immediately after the query is completed.

But when I use this same connection when importing as a "target" connection will remain open even after the import is completed as an object. This connection is open until WimpEnt.exe run or agent job then it is closed.

Why is this happening? This causes problems on the firewall, which blocks than new connections.

Can you help me with that?!
Thx

Peter

I had alook at the source code and I can confirm that our software disconnects from the target database once the import is completed.
It also disconnects after retrieving a list of fields and primary key information
I used Access ODBC as the target connection for testing.

we use SQLDisconnect() function
www.ibm.com/docs/en/db2-for-zos/11?topic...ect-from-data-source

Connecting to the server is a very heavy operation.
A lot of applications use connection pooling to speed things up.
Some of ODBC drivers allow the user to enable connection pooling as an advanced option.
That might be the issue in your case.
(I am just guessing here)

Peter.

I can add some debug messages to exe, that might help to identify the problem.
What version do you have now?
