Just to make sure I got this correctly, when I have a reader connected to a SQL server, lets call it server1, and database db1, if I run a script in the reader (Source data) that uses that connection, the script will run on that server correct?

NO, I'm not, just wanted to make sure I understand it. I have to build a big package to sync data between 2 databases on 2 different servers and some of the scripts need to run on the source and I'm using variables to pass as servername and databasename - but in the script I want to make sure the correct server is selected for execution and for data transfer. I have attached an example to explain what I'm doing, hope it makes sense
so in this case it will execute on staging
