mqtt_logger:security

Security

There are two ways of running the MQTT Logger with security enabled or disabled.
When security is disabled every one has unlimited access to MQTT Logger, We do not recommend running MQTT Logger with disabled security

The passwords are encrypted using a security key. We recommend changing it immediately after installation

The procedure is as follows

  1. Disable security
  2. Update security key
  3. Restart the logger
  4. Update users passwords
  5. Enable security
  6. Restart the logger

We recommend using SSL encryption for network communications

The procedure is as follows

  1. Generate SSL Certificate
  2. Copy server.key and server.cer into .env folder
  3. Enable SSL
  4. Restart the server

Once started open the following URL in the browser

https://computername:3333

or

https://localhost:3333

Windows

C:\ProgramData\ETL-Tools.com\mqtt-logger\

Linux

/etc/etl-tools.com/mqtt-logger
