Copy Transformer between Data Flows

This may be by design - not available, but I thought I would raise it. We have a partner who has decided to change the format of the data they have sent us from an Excel XLS file to a CSV file where all of the column headings/field names are the same. There are however extra columns in the XLS version of the file. But all of the column names that exist in both are the same as well as their position within the file.

I have a transformer already setup for the XLS file which has some logic in it for dealing with currency codes dependent on the nature of the data row and instead of rebuilding it in the new flow I had hoped to copy what I could from the original flow.

What I attempted to do was to copy&paste the Transformer from the XLS Data Flow into the new Data Flow. This resulted in an Access Violation error. I also stored the initial Transformer in the Object Library and attempted to add it to the new Flow. This also resulted in an Access Violation.

I can see that there would be challenges in providing this feature - although it would be a fantastic addition. As a minimum it may be more 'friendly' to issue a statement that this type of action is not permitted rather than throwing an Access Violation error.

I have just copied the transformer from one mapping into another without any issues.
The issue might be specific to your mapping.
Can you provide us with the mapping, please?
