Datacenter goes boom

Today ,

We found the datacenter we've hosted ETL-Tools was hosted on have gone kaput . No access since last 8 hours. For some weird reason the cluster we were on has been hit , they are trying to recover 

Daily backups were of SQL Express were being done which I have a copy of remotely. Fingers crossed.

Question 
1. Is SQL backup sufficient to recover or repository backup is a whole different beast ?

Yes it is sufficient

OK , data centre has thankfully reverted the data back , but I still would like to try and recreate this backup on another PC to verify. Any guides/videos I can refer to ? 

No much to advice to be honest.

1 Install SQL Server
2 Restore Sql server database
3 Install AETL
4 Do not start any services (That way you will avoid running packages)
5 Connect AETL to the repository
