I guess you have to install ODBC driver

In order to connect to any database you have to have relevant driver/client installed.
Some drivers are part of operating system some are not.
For example imformix or oracle.
So you have to download and install it yourself.
Informix ODBC driver is not our software so we cant give you any advice reagarding istallation processes.

OK, I do have an Informix driver installed, but I don't see where I specify a connection string. Can you walk me through the process?

Create system Dsn in ODBC manager.
Than in database browser select odbc dsn you just created.
