Hi there,

I am currently trying to write my data into Microsoft Access after the transformation, however, when I'm trying to update record in my database after writing data in the first time, ETL is asking me to select an "update key". I've read wiki and it look like the update key is the unique variable in Access (primary key). What if I do not have a unique key for each row of data defined? Then what can I use as my update key?

Thanks

Even if you do not have a primary key defined you might have a unique combination of fields.

As an alternative, you delete everything and reload the data.

Hi Mike,

Apologize for the late response, we have just added a primary key into our access system. However, when we use the updating function to attempt to update our database, for some reason it duplicated one of our records over and over again in the Access database instead of updating it with new values (see attached for a sample output and setting). Can you please help let us know what the problem is? (i have looked for a tutorial for this but can't seem to find much)

Thanks

Am I correct in my assumption that you are trying to update Units fields?

In this case, try setting all fields as an update key except UNITS and KEY
