Hello

I want to import data from excel to Firebird.

When importing fields, I have to convert the source data or to replace the destination field with an ID that matches a field in a table on the destination database.
I also want to save the settings for repeat each import again. Can you help me and tell what product have these possibilities ?

Many thanks
Best regards,
Charles

Thanks for the question
Just to clarify

I assume that you have client excel file like this

Client Name, Sales
John, 1000
Maria, 1000
Peter, 1000

And the target table
ClientId, Name
1,John
2,Maria
3,Peter

And you want to get 1 for John, 2 for maria while loading the data

Is this correct?

Or you just want to generate PK and get values from the database?

Hello Mike,

We use for sample a table for locality (we have all locality in a table with an ID field) like this

1,Paris
2,Monaco
3,Lyon
4,Marseille
5,

In the address table for importation, we store the ID field and not the string of localities.

When we import from an external table, we want to convert “Lyon” on a value 3 (read on the locality table) for put the value in the address table

Many thanks for your help
