Check File - Check File File Age variable always return Zero

i am using ETL 5.9.2.20 and looking at ways to get a Files created date etc. I know there is a script method as well as using the filesytem reader in a transmformation,

BUT i need a straight forward way to get the information from a file. so i saw and tried to use the Check File Action but see that it always return zero




better yet would be a filemetadata package level component like filecheck named say FileInfo where i could get
1. File Created Date ( full yyyymmdd hhmmss.tt or even the fileOS value like file age, though we will have to format it everytime)
2. File Last Modified Date
3. Size
4. Last Accessed Date etc

basically all the fields like the FileSystem reader minus the content
