The latest version of Advanced ETL Processor introduced support for web services. It is a way of communicating with web servers - such as - it sends a request to the web server using XML and receives back a reply as XML. Many of today's websites like Ebay, Amazon are using web services as a standard API for developers.


To begin, we need to build HTTP Request Header and HTTP Request Body dynamically. There are several methods and the easiest way is to use “In Place Replace transformation” function.



The above screenshot shows HTTP Request Header and on how it communicates with temperature conversion web service using the In Place Replace transformation function. During execution #value# is replaced with body length.

Below is the HTTP Request Body. During execution #value# is replaced with temperature



Example on how the Transformation would look like and the Web Service Lookup Properties respectively.
