Error when starting a new transformation

Error when starting a new transformation was created by ckelsoe
I am consistently getting the following error when I add a new transformation and the Data Reader Properties window shows up. No matter what I do I get the following error when I try to refresh the datasource to get the list of tables. If I cancel out then go to the Reader itself and access the properties it works just fine.
On another somewhat related note - when we refresh the source data tab - I do not need the dialog box telling me it has refreshed. I can see that it has by the tables list appearing.

Note that the same error happens on the My SQL tab also when the refresh button is clicked.

I do not think it is actually related to our software. but more to MySql settings

Ok. Interesting that it for the most part only happens when the transformation is first created and the dialog box pops up automatically. It does not *most of the time* appear if I exit out of that dialog box then open it again via the reader properties.

One of our customers reported similar problem and it was corrected by tweaking MySQL parameters
