I'm using ATE Version 5.2.0.4. I have the database on computer 179 as well as the application. The application is using the usual access repository and the reports/forms etc using Postgresql. Everything works fine, reports, tables, etc when use the ATE application on computer 179. I installed the application on computer 170 which is on the same network. I changed the repository to connect to the database used by 179, changed the firewall to allow Postgresql remote connection via 5432 port and everything is working fine. I can connection to ATE on 179 from 170 and be able to see the same menu items however; reports don't appear to work. When I click on any report I get a black page. Any idea? let me know if you need me to send anything to you.

I figured it out. I was using 2 different versions and that is why It didn't work out but it opened my eyes on something important:

What is the best way to run this program on multiple computers? I can see 2 options:

1. Install it on each machine, set the repository to the main machine. This works but its has 2 disadvantages:
a. Program update and upgrade would be crazy specially if you have many computers.
b. Although the installation is simple, still going to install it on multiple computers and change the repository db

2. Install it on a one PC and share the folder and just create a short cut on each PC - I have tried this and it works fine so i wont have to worry about the above issues (a,b) since it will always be done on one machine, the main one.

What are your thoughts? Maybe there is a third better way?

I would share the folder.

Everything you need to run ATE is in one folder.
