The Update procedure

This repository update adds Amazon and Azure connection object types so the designer can show those connection groups in the object tree. Without the repository rows, the software may be ready for cloud work while the repository looks at it blankly. Databases can be very committed to pretending they have never met you.

Advanced ETL Processor and Visual Importer ETL store connection definitions in the repository. The SQL below registers the Amazon and Azure object types, assigns their object type groups, and adds both nodes below the cloud connection area.

Before you run the SQL

  1. Create a repository backup.
  2. Stop services and scheduled jobs that use the repository.
  3. Check that you are connected to the ETL repository database, not a source database.
  4. Run the update once, then restart the application.
Do not run this update yet if the repository backup is missing or untested. A five-minute backup is much cheaper than an afternoon spent explaining why the tree has grown strange new branches.

Run this SQL against the repository

After the repository update

Open the application and check the connection tree. Amazon and Azure should now appear as available connection groups. If they do not appear, confirm that the SQL was run against the active repository used by the installed product.
