The File System Writer saves data from a source into separate files. For this tutorial, the source is a database BLOB field and the output is one file per record.
The writer can save file content, append data to existing files, or delete files depending on the configured target behaviour. For BLOB export, pay close attention to the output directory and file name fields. Databases do not mind vague names. File systems do.
When testing BLOB workflows, export sample records and compare the resulting files with the originals. We have tested files up to 100 MB across supported databases, but the practical check is still simple: save it back out and verify it opens correctly.
